Large dark green jade river pebble from the Uyghur Autonomous Region in China, famous for its fine quality nephrite. This dark green material is called Manasi jade after the Manasi region in Xinjiang where it is said to be found. We acquired this pebble in 1993 in the city of Hetian (formerly known as Khotan) which lies in the southern part of the Uyghur Autonomous Region in China. Length 6.9 cm. Width 3.5 cm. Depth 2.5 cm. Weight 89.9 grams.
