Each of these two miniature monkeys holds a peach above its head. The carvings are super small and most probably intended as beads. They were made from jadeite (fei tsui) and are quite detailed despite their size. A monkey holding a peach expresses the wish that the wearer and his descendants may cherish long life. They date from the end of the Qing period (1644 - 1912) and were added to the collection in 2012 in Shanghai. Length 1.7 and 1.5 cm respectively. Weight 0.7 grams each.
