We bought this flower disc in 1993 on a street market in Luoyang, one of the old Chinese capital cities of the past. The flower has been in a fire and as a result changed color. The back shows what is known as ‘baby blush’ as well as some dark green discoloration. Small extra holes have been drilled in the back for attachment. This type of flower is not depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art ‘.
