Flower disc with a rim of larger ‘ruyi’ symbols than usual. The word ‘ruyi’ stands for ‘As you wish’ and means that all of your wishes come true. The disc is different because it has two holes drilled from front to back instead of the standard two holes in the Ying Yang symbol of most other discs. A similar type of flower (nr 415) is depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art’。
