Flower which came from a Hawaiian collection. It had a form unknown to us. The Hawaiian collector had bought it many years before on a Chinese street market. To our surprise we managed to acquire two more flowers of the same design from Taiwanese dealers a few years later. See flower 579 - (3252) and flower 583 - (3293). The sizes differ but the design is the same. This type of flower is not depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art ‘. To our surprise we found an agate flower of a similar design mounted in a brooch on eBay and some time later we found another one which we added to our collection.
