Large white flower disc. It could easily be mistaken for jade were it not for the fact that the disc shows sharp chips on its rim and air bubbles within. It is a miracle that this glass disc survived with only a few chips as it dates from the late Ming period (1368 – 1644). A similar type of flower in jade (nr 400) is depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art’。
