Small jadeite five-petaled flower with a corona. As jadeite was only introduced in China by the end of the 18th century during the reign of emperor Qianlong (reigned 1735 – 1796), this flower can easily be dated to the 19th century. A similar type of flower in jade (nr 231) is depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art’。
