Elongated flower made of Xiu yu jade. Flowers of this type are still plentiful in China and we believe that the ones in the Lowlands-collection all date from the 19th century. The workmanship on this relatively easy to carve flower is quite good. A similar type of flower in jade (nr 233) is depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art’。
