Agate or glass side-viewed flower – (3831)

Bright red agate or glass ‘side-viewed’ flower. We are not fully convinced that this flower is made of agate. The reason for our doubt is the fact that that we spotted air bubbles under magnification. So it may well be that the flower which we acquired years ago as ‘agate’ is actually made of an even cheaper material ‘glass’. A similar type of flower in jade (nr 267) is depicted in professor Cheng Te-k’un’s book ‘Jade Flowers and Floral Patterns in Chinese Decorative Art’。
