Belt hook of superior quality. The qilin looks very vivid and seems ready to move. Powerful carvings like this very often date from the Ming period (1368 - 1644) and this one is certainly no exception as can also been seen from the typical stud in the shape of a flower. Studs shaped like flowers with five petals were a frequent occurrence during the Ming period. The material is of a beautiful light celadon color and the carving is exquisite.
