Small carving made of pure white Hetian jade. It depicts a boy beating a drum (Daogu) with a ruyi scepter in his left hand. On his right hand sits a bat, symbol of Blessings and Riches. The details of this diminutive figure are great and the jade quality is delicious. Of course it is a modern carving dating from the beginning of the 1990's. We acquired the boy in Shanghai in 1993.
