Contemporary pair of butterflies which was carved from white jade and dates from the 1990's. The carving is very well executed but the color of the jade is slightly different. They were found in Shanghai. Butterflies symbolize a happy marriage. Two butterflies also refer to a wish for a long life. Width 4.8 cm. Height 2.9 cm. Depth 0.5 cm. Weight 17.7 grams for the pair.
