Caishen which literally means ‘God of Wealth’ is the God of prosperity worshipped in Chinese folk religion and Daoism. The carver of this heavy toggle used a light streak in the brown Hetian pebble to uncover his smiling face. His hat is adorned with coins symbolizing Wealth and he holds a Lingzhi fungus in one hand which stands for Longevity. The toggle dates from the 1990’s and was added to the Lowlands-collection in 2010. Height 6 cm. Width 4.3 cm. Depth 3.2 cm.
