Lotus flower in a pearl border – (9148)

Openwork jade ornament surrounded by indented dots or ‘pearls’ which are typical of the Ming period (1368 – 1644). It was once used as decoration on a belt. The central theme consists of a lotus flower and leaf which symbolize Continuous Harmony. The ornament came from the collection of Mr. Rudolph Voll who collected a large number of small jades in Hong Kong during the 1970's. Width 4.5 cm. Height 3.5 cm. Depth 0.47 cm. Weight 10.2 grams.
