It is very difficult to show the details on this white toggle. The color is white which make photographing almost impossible. We have therefore changed the color of photo 3 to show the fine carving of the Peaches (Longevity) in the centre. They are surrounded by Five (wu) bats (fu) which are a pun ‘May you have the Five Blessings (wufu). The Five Blessings are Old age, Health, Wealth, Love of Virtue and a Peaceful death. This toggle dates from the Qing period (1644 – 1912) or later. Length 4.7 cm. Width 2.9 cm. Depth 1.2 cm.
