The quality of this small chop is easily recognizable. It was carved in fine detail of pure white mutton fat jade. On top is a boy holding a box, most probably one of the two Heavenly Twins (Hehe Erxien). The chop came from Christie’s in London in the 1970's. The inscription reads in fine lettering 'The announcement of Hsia-Ch'u' and dates from the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912). Height 3.3 cm. Width 1.8 cm. Depth 1.8 cm. Weight 23.9 grams.
