Small yellowish white jade river pebble with a brown ‘skin’ from the White Jade River in Hetian (formerly known as Khotan). Hetian lies in the Uyghur Autonomous Region in China, famous for its fine quality nephrite. The pebble reminds us in shape somewhat of a human finger or toe bone. Length 3.5 cm. Width 1.5 cm. Depth 1.0 cm. Weight 8.7 grams.
