Bronze vessel and lid dating from the Late Spring & Autumn period (771 – 476BC). The object is undecorated apart from the centre of the lid which shows the snake-like creatures that are so typical of the period. The lid can be used as a serving bowl when turned upside down. Within the vessel are clear signs that it contained a fluid at one point in history. The vessel and lid have a nice patina and there are some great crystalline spots inside. Height 18 cm. Width 23 cm from handle to handle.
