Bronze belt hook inlaid with silver snake-like whirls and silver and gold stipples. Embroidery and lacquer items of this period show comparable stippled and whirling areas and it is therefore not surprising that such ‘fillers’ were used on belt hooks because belt hooks and garments are closely connected. Also depicted is a flower. It dates from the Warring States (475 – 221BC) to the Western Han Period (206BC – 25AD). Length 14.4 cm.
