Huge monster mask (Tao Tieh) very realistically cast and dating from the Warring States period (475 – 221BC). It most probably once formed part of a door. The mask is profusely decorated with dots and whirls. The ring may be a later replacement as the color of the bronze is slightly different. Total height 17 cm. Height of the mask 11 cm. Width 13.5 cm. Total weight 845 grams.
