Ferrule decorated with a zoomorphic design of curls and bird-like creatures. It was created to grace the bottom part of a halberd or axe. Remains of the wooden pole to which it was attached are still inside. A part was purposely left untouched and shows the corrosion through which some silver inlay shimmers. This ferrule dates from the late Warring States (475 – 221BC) to the early Western Han period (206BC – 25AD). Length 13.8 cm. Width 2.8 cm. Depth 3.7 cm.
