Small bronze ferrule (dun) finely decorated with a zoomorphic design of elephant- and bird-like creatures. Originally it graced the bottom part of a lacquered pole to which a halberd or axe was attached. Part of the original pole of the halberd is still inside. The ferrule dates from the late Warring States (475 – 221BC) to the early Western Han period (206BC – 25AD). Length 10.4 cm. Width 2.5 cm. Depth 3.3 cm.
