Simple but nicely made celadon green colored chop. Especially the inscription, qin neng bu zhuo (勤能補拙), is well carved and means 'Work hard. if you're not smart'. The chop dates from the Qing period (1644 - 1912) and was acquired in 2013. The seal originally formed part of the Rudolph Voll collection in California. Length 4.1 cm. Width 2.0 cm. Depth 1.9 cm.
