Very nice chop with some of the brown ‘skin’ still remaining. It must have belonged to a scholar because of the very poetic inscription 'Looking at the moon'. There is little doubt in our mind that it dates to the Qianlong period (1736 - 1795) because of the quality of the stone and the inscription but of course it can also be slightly later. The 'touch' of this chop, when held in one's hand, is great. It entered the Lowlands-collection from Taipei in 1984. Height 3.8 cm. Width 3.1 cm. Depth 1.6 cm. Weight 28.2 grams.
