Carved red top signed by Yi Ru - (2721)

Shoushan-stone seal carved from a grey material with a red skin. The red skin shows four stylized creatures which represent dragons. The seal consists of no less than 64 characters and is dated 1921. It was carved by Yi Ru who lived from 1874 to 1941. Yi was a well-known seal carver and music teacher who also used the name Yi Dachang. Republic period (1912 – 1947). Height 6.9 cm. Width 4.0 cm. Depth 3.9 cm.
