Lotus flower and leaves signed by Qian Juntao - (9547)

Shoushan-stone seal carved by the well known Chinese painter, calligrapher and carver Qian Juntao (1907 – 1998) from Zhejiangtongxiang Village. Qian moved to Shanghai in 1927 which is where he carved this seal. Depicted are a lotus flower on the top of the seal and lotus leaves on the sides. We believe that he carved it around 1950 but it could also date from the late Republic period (1912 – 1947). Height 4.8 cm. Width 2.8 cm. Depth 2.6 cm.
