In a landscape with houses in the background, three men are apparently very busy cutting peat. The right one, who wears a straw hat against the burning sun, is spading in the ground while the other two are pulling and pushing a sleigh full of ready-cut blocks of peat. The deep-carved armorial shows a seated lion wearing a crown which is the family crest of Sir Kildare Dixon Borrowes (Baronet). It is flanked by two long-tailed animals which could be dogs or foxes. The intricately fretted border is decorated with flowers, fruits and on the front two butterflies, symbols of a happy marriage. The counter dates from the Daoguang period (道光 1820 – 1850). Length 6.9 cm. Height 2.7 cm. Thickness 0.27 cm.
