This unusual and rare scene depicts the unloading of two horses from a partly covered boat. The man on the left touches the head of one horse and the helmsman tries to keep the boat as close as possible to the shore. A raised flag and houses are visible in the background. The finely engraved armorial belongs to Murray, Duke of Athole. It depicts the top half of a naked savage with a dagger in his right hand and a large key in his left. He has wreaths around his head and waist which are a symbol of victory. The motto reads ‘Furth fortune’ which is old Scottish and means ‘Have fortune when going against your enemies’. The finely engraved border is decorated with flowers and foliage. The crest is flanked by a bird looking backward at a dog on the right side. The counter dates from the Daoguang period (1820 – 1850). Width 4.7 cm. Height 3.4 cm. Thickness 0.27 cm.
