Porcelain saucer decorated in blue and white with a Fu dog also called Buddhist Lion. This imaginary animal symbolizes Harmony, Blessings, Protection as well as High Rank. It is standing on a ribbon which symbolizes Longevity because of its length. The saucer came slightly warped out of the kiln and dates from the Ming dynasty (1368 – 1644). Diameter 13.3 cm. Height 2.5 cm.
