Pottery funerary objects from the Ming period in light blue and aubergine are rather rare. The glaze is much more fragile than the green and amber colors which are more common. This pair of miniature light blue money chests has loose lids. The locks, handles and hinges are glazed in an aubergine color. The top of the lids were cold painted in black. The chests which are still in good condition despite some minor glaze fritters date from the Ming period (1368 – 1644). Height 12 cm. Length chest 12.5 cm. Length base 13.5 cm. Width chest 7.5 cm.
