Miniature glazed pottery brazier. The saucer of a brazier would be filled with hot embers and could be used for heating the room or to keep food warm. Braziers for daily use were usually made of bronze of cast iron. This pottery one is glazed in an amber and green color. Its stand has four legs and is fixed to the saucer. It dates from the Ming period (1368 – 1644). Height 9.7 cm. Diameter saucer 7.6 cm. Base 6.8 x 7.1 cm. THIS ITEM WAS SOLD AT AUCTION IN 2022.
