Miniature green and amber glazed pottery model of a vase with a fixed lid. This vase may be a ‘hu’, a sacrificial vessel used to store and warm wine. We arrive at this conclusion because of the shape of the vessel and the lid. Original bronze wine vessels called ‘hu’ were used since the Western Zhou period. This one dates from the Ming period (1368 – 1644). Height 9.3 cm. Width 5.3 cm. Depth 3.9 cm. Size at the base 3.2 x 2.7 cm. THIS ITEM WAS SOLD AT AUCTION IN 2022.
