Standing lady - (2049-4)

Standing glazed pottery lady in a long flowing dress with long sleeves and a hood. She is covered in 'straw-glaze', so called because of its yellowish color. The glaze has deteriorated over time. Usually water-based paint was applied over the glaze but in this case the paint has been washed off and little of it is still visible. The lady dates from the Sui to Tang periods (AD 591 - 907). Height 20.4 cm. Width at the base 6.2 cm. Depth at the base 4.9 cm.
