Simple round opium box made of a hardwood. Opium boxes were used to store opium for a smoke along the way. This one dates from the end of the Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Height 4.1 cm. Width 4.4 cm. Diameter 4.3 cm. Weight 12 grams.
