Opium box with a bat on the lid - (1900)

Paktong opium box with a figure of a bat soldered to the lid. A Bat symbolizes Blessings and Riches. The box is in good condition apart from a few minor dents. It is lined with copper which is normal for an opium box. It dates from the end of the Qing period (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Height including bat 5.4 cm. Width 5.3 cm. Depth 2.2 cm.
