Large silver bowl decorated in high relief with chrysanthemum flowers which symbolize a life of ease and retirement from public office. The bowl was made by the Chinese silversmith Luen Wo, a prolific silversmith who was active during the last quarter of the 19th century and first quarter of the 20th century in Shanghai and Canton. The quality of his work is invariably high. This bowl was acquired in Hong Kong in 1993. Diameter 21 cm. Height 12.8 cm.
