Very small pierced tray, most probably a pin dish. The rim is decorated with plum flowers. The five petals of the plum flower symbolize the 'Five gods of good luck'. The dish is marked on the bottom with the characters 足纹 for 'Pure silver' (Zu Wen) and the name 'Sheng Yuan' (聲元). It is unknown where in China this silversmith plied his craft but stylistically the tray dates from around 1900. It came from England in 2009. Length 8.1 cm. Width 5.5 cm.
