Chinese Export silver holder which was designed to contain a jar with jam or an other preserve. It is embossed and chased with bamboo stalks and leaves and has a finely hammered background. The holder is marked in full on the bottom rim with the maker's name 'Tuck Chang' who was active on 67 Broadway in Shanghai during the late 19th and early 20th century. Height with handle 14.5 cm.
