Lotus leaf-shaped brush washer – (7361)

Brush washer in the shape of a lotus leaf made from celadon colored jade with a dark green and a brown streak. The flowing natural lines of this small object and the care with which it was created, place the manufacture of this brush washer in the Ming period (1368 - 1644). Similar examples from the same period are known. We acquired this object from Cserno Antiques in Amsterdam, Holland in 1969. Length 6.3 cm. Width 4.9 cm. Height 2.0 cm. Weight 36.4 grams.
