Purse - Coins & Lingzhi - (1752)
[1752]

Silk money purse, embroidered in 'Peking stitch' with coins (Wealth), a bat (happiness), a lingzhi mushroom (Longevity) and a box (Abundance). The stitch work is fabulous. The purse dates from around 1900 and looks brand new, most probably because it once formed part of a dowry and was never used. It was added to the Lowlands-collection in 2007 and came from Shanghai. Length 14.5 cm. Width 8.5 cm. Depth 0.8 cm.
