Lute-shaped needle case with fruits and flowers – (2912) Silver-colored lute-shaped needle case which is decorated with some rather basic decorations of fruits and flowers. We believe that the fruits are a Finger Citron (Blessings & Longevity) and a Peach (Longevity) and that the flowers are a Lotus (Continuous Harmony) and a Cymbidium flower (Friendship & Grandchildren) but the last one could also be a Peony (Wealth & Honor). The needle case dates from the Republican period (1912 – 1947). Total length including chain 37.5.cm. Needle case length 5.8 cm. Width 3.2 cm. Depth 1.0 cm.
