Belt hook consisting of two parts, each decorated with a gourd which is a symbol of longevity and a medicine. The gourd wards off evil. A light greyish white jade was used. The carving is good but the quality of the material suggests production in the early part of the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912) when good jade was not yet so plentiful. It was acquired in 2008 in Amsterdam. Length 13.0 cm. Width 5.4 cm. Depth 1.9 cm. Weight 152 grams.
