Shield-shaped amulet with inscriptions – (0250)
[0250]

Silver amulet in the shape of a shield engraved on one side with the characters ‘Jiang Jun Jian’ (General’s sword) and on the other with the characters ‘Chang Ming Fu Gui’ (Long Life and Prosperity). Which general is meant, is unknown to us. Perhaps the inscription refers to the famous general Guo Ziyi who was the embodiment of Longevity, Wealth and Honor. Certain is that the sword serves as a protection against evil. The amulet is hallmarked and dates from the Qing period (1644 – 1912). Height 4.8 cm. Width 3.2 cm. Depth 0.1 cm.
