Amulet with the Eight Trigrams - (2522)

Silver amulet and chain. The amulet is formed like a convex mirror which is engraved on the inside with the Eight Trigrams (Pa Kua or Ba Gua). For an explanation of the ‘Ba Gua’ see Quick Find 4139. Convex mirrors increase the size of their reflections and are used for Feng Shui purposes. The amulet dates from the end of the Qing period (1644 – 1912). Total length including chain 26 cm. Diameter disc 5.9 cm. Depth 0.7 cm.
