Large hairpin made from buffalo horn. This horn hairpin was heated and pressed into a mould. The result is very nice detailed. Because of the fact that buffalo horn is a very tough material, the hairpin is still in almost unbelievably good condition. We are not sure what kind of flowers are depicted in the decoration. The hairpin dates from the end of the Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Length 15.2 cm. Width 2.2 cm. Depth 0.6 cm.
