Hairpin with two Butterflies – (8640)

Silver hairpin decorated with two butterflies, symbols of Blessings & Happiness. The rim is embellished with abstract shapes. The hairpin is of a nice quality but has some scratches. It is marked Xue (薛) who may have been the silversmith or retailer. It dates from the end of the Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Length 9.8 cm. Width 1.7 cm.
