Bone hairpin from the Ming Dynasty – (8670)
[8670]

This time not a silver object but a ‘poor men’s hairpin. Time has given this bone item an incredible patina. It is only decorated with simple circles on one side and dates from the Ming period (1368 – 1644). Because of the fragility of the material, bone hairpins are rare and only a few have survived. Length 12.1 cm. Width at the top 0.8 cm.
