Gilt silver hat ornament which depicts one of the Eight Immortals. The Immortal He Xiangu has his ‘trademark’, a fly whisk in his hand. Each Immortal can be identified by the attribute which he is holding (see Quick Find 7883). He Xiangu is standing on clouds which show that he is an Immortal. The ornament dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Height 5.1 cm. Width 1.8 cm. Depth 1.6 cm.
