Immortal with coin – (9191)

Interesting gilt silver hat ornament depicting an Immortal with a large coin. He is standing on clouds which shows that he is an Immortal but we haven’t seen one yet holding a coin. On the coin is written ‘Li Shi He He’ (利市和合) which means ‘May you make a highly rewarding career advancement’. The coin itself symbolizes Great Wealth. The ornament is marked on the back with the name Wan Cheng (萬成) who may have been the silversmith or retailer. It dates from the late Qing (1644 – 1912) to the early Republic period (1912 – 1947). Height 4.9 cm. Width 2.1 cm. Depth 1.6 cm.
