Silver Japanese one yen coin. This Japanese coin was used in China as it has Chinese chop marks confirming that it is silver. The coin has a purity of 900 (90%) and dates from 1897. It entered the Lowlands-collection from Fujian province where it was most probably used for payments between Chinese traders around the beginning of the 20th century. Diameter 3.8 cm. Depth 0.28 cm.
